From Bob Keeley:
"Hey Scouts! Summer is just around the corner Folks!! If your looking for a great Summer event for your Pack or Troop, then we'd love to have you join us for the Scout Appreciation night - Lake Elsinore Storm Game/Overnighter, Friday July 25th 2014.
Once again I will be heading up the event to invite all Packs and Troops that are looking for a great scout event to add to their calendars. In past years we bought out most of an entire section and I have up to 150 seats just past 3rd base that need to be filled(Full section is 300). This year let's make it 300!! This type of thing is catching on fast among other units and it's a great way of meeting all scouts and families from other units. As an added bonus, all those that attend will participate in pre-game field procession( CLASS A uniform required please) which is always a treat. Then grab your seat, and watch the Lake Elsinore Storms (Class A California League San Diego Padres Affiliate) play some great baseball in a clsoe to field setting. These guys work for it! After the game, FIREWORKS!!** then go the car. grab your gear (tent, sleeping bag) and camp on the field and watch a movie on the big stadium screen! There are three packages you can sign up for;
$15 - Game / Meal ticket/ Campout, $12 - Game / Meal ticket, $8 - Game only.
If you'd like to park closer, they have a parking pass** for a few bucks more ($5 is for the general parking Lot C where everyone parks; contact me for details)**Need to purchase in advance with the main order.
Due to the popularity of this event I would request ONE representative from each Pack or Troop coordinate to their groups ticket sales and provide one check / cash for the tickets. DEADLINE FOR TICKET TICKET PURCHASES THROUGH ME IS July 5th..This was very popular last year and I'm looking forward again this year to making it happen again!" - Bob Keeley
All events are available on the Calendar page, including links to council events. Check it out.
Uniforms and Supplies
The Kit Carson District has a Uniform and Equipment Exchange. For sale, at a nominal fee, are gently used uniforms and working equipment. Items to be added to our inventory are always welcomed. Drop off those uniforms that your son, or Venturing daughter, no longer wear. Maybe you have some working camping equipment just taking up space in your garage; we'll gladly take it off your hands so that you can make room for some new, cool stuff. Contact Brad Baker at his office (Baker Orthodontics - 760.743.2295) to inquire about needed items, or for drop off information.
The Sports Chalet in San Marcos carries a limited supply of Scouting uniforms and supplies, mostly for youth. They are located in the Grand Plaza at 177 South Las Posas Drive.
Be Ready, a long time supporter of Scouting, in Oceanside also carries Scouting uniforms and supplies. They are located at 2921 Oceanside Blvd.
